Our new programme begins on 20th August with some re-designed workshops, two brand new workshops and a new on-the-day-discount! All the details are on our workshop page.
The biggest change is to Janice's Finishing Techniques and Brioche workshops.
Finishing Techniques will now be split over two workshops. The aim is to provide you with more in depth tuition on all those knitting niggles that can make your finished project more blah than fab.
We're starting with Finishing One which is all about starting your project right and sewing up it up well.
This workshop will have lots more about:-
- swatching - why you need to do it, how to measure it and what to do if it's not what you want
- the magic of blocking
- sewing up different stitches - not just stocking stitch and ribs
- sewing on a button band
- how and when to use different cast-on and cast-off methods
- and more!
- selvedges and problems with uneven edges
- how to pick up stitches correctly
- knitting on edges, bands
- different types of buttonholes
- and more!
Finishing One is on Sunday 29th October 2017 and you'll need to do some homework.

Brioche is such a versatile stitch that Janice is creating three different workshops, each building in complexity.
We're offering Brilliant Beginners Brioche this year. This is all about one colour brioche and you'll make a squishy scarf with a simple repeating pattern. You will learn brioche knit and purl stitches, travelling stitches, how to read brioche patterns and fix simple mistakes (!) This workshop will establish a foundation for further brioche adventures.
We hope to offer two further brioche workshops which will include two colour brioche (Brilliant Bicolour Brioche) and brioche in the round (Brilliant Boggling Brioche?!?!?)

Our two newest workshops are taught by local designer and author Dorothy Wood. Crystal Crochet and Macrame! Both are half day workshops.
In Crystal Crochet you will learn to crochet with Swarovski Crystals to make a stunning bracelet and earring set. There are lots of colours to choose from.

In Macrame! you will learn how to use knots to make your own decorative wall hanging.
