a colourful end to 2013

Happy New Year everyone!

Did you get all your festive knitting done on time? Or were there a few IOUs...?

I had a colourful end to 2013 and managed to get a few personal projects finished during the holidays...

My first crochet blanket started in March and hibernated during the hot summer but I managed to get it finished in December. It's a Lucy of Attic 24 pattern - Granny Stripes. You can see more on my Ravelry project page. I'm already planning my next blanket...

The Magic Zauberball Socks knitted up really fast! These are a very addictive way to knit socks as the colour combos can be very surprising. Read more here. Each sock took less than a week but as I suffer from one sock syndrome there was a bit of a gap between finishing sock one and starting sock two...

Robyn also knitted up very fast (which I think is down to my Karbonz needles). She is a friend for another Arne & Carlos doll, Elizabeth. These dolls are abit fiddly to knit. Because of my 'looseness' I have to use 2mm needles but there is no sewing up!

Now on to 2014 projects!

Elizabeth - an Arne & Carlos doll

Some of you may have heard about Fiona's latest doll project.  She is now finished!

Elizabeth*

her hair took almost a whole ball of Rowan Pure Wool 4ply!

the first of many dresses...

From the Arne & Carlos book Knitted  Dolls.  We don't have the book in the shop.

She is knitted using a variety of our 4 ply yarns - including Rowan 4ply, Regia Angora Merino and Lang sock wool.

Of course she needs a full wardrobe of clothes and accessories now!  And some friends...

*Her name is subject to change... by a fickle nearly 7 year old.
