YarnPony in the shop!

After a very successful trunk show in January and having knitted with Mica's lovely yarn, we're really excited to stock YarnPony in the shop full time!
Skyline by Linda Wilgus (available to buy on Ravelry) in YarnPony Mustang

Edinburgh based Mica started YarnPony late last year - combining her passion for knitting and dyeing to create a stunning collection of yarns. She also offers dyeing workshops in her Edinburgh studio.
We have a selection of ShowPony (50/50 merino/silk) and Mustang (100% merino) and we think you're going to love it!
Mica has put together a collection of shades for us that are simply stunning...

ShowPony is £19 and Mustang £16. Both are 100g hanks of 4ply, perfect for cowls, shawls, mitts and socks! One hank of 400m will go far!
We're also very pleased to have copies of Gilver by Jo Kelly... a shawl pattern with an unusual double layered edge - its quite simple to do too! And is perfect in ShowPony...
The pattern comes with digital code too!

and Traffic Light Lace RingOs in Gold and Silver

lets get organised! (Photo: Sarah Simonds)

Traffic Light Lace RingOs (£10) is a special set of 20 RingOs which can be used for marking pattern repeats, for example on a lace shawl.

The red and green rings help to mark the beginning and end of shawl or special edging sections and also the wrong and right sides. The orange rings can help identify central spines or sections of the pattern that need to stand out if you need to change to a different chart. The gold or silver rings mark your pattern repeats between the red, orange and green rings. The rings will comfortably fit needles up to 4mm.

Come and see them soon!

KnitPro - in the shop

We're really excited to announce we now have KnitPro Symfonie Wood Interchangeable needles in the shop!

needle tips from £5.40 and cables at £2.25

These needles are made from densified laminated birch wood*. This makes then strong, durable and keeps the tips sharp! They have a distinctive colour, so not only are they a pleasure to knit with but they look lovely too.

We have the Symfonie Interchangeable range which means you buy the needles tips and cables separately. So you can mix and match different needles sizes with cable lengths. This lets you create a wide range of circular needles without the need to buy circular needles for each project. So you don't need to buy 3 different circular needles, just 1 set of needle tips and 3 different lengths of cable.

The needle tip screws into the cable to make a smooth join. The thin cables are flexible with almost no memory (great for magic loop!)

With each cable you get a cable key... you use this to tighten the needle tip onto the cable so there is no danger of the needle tip untwisting whilst you knit. You also get two end caps, so you can remove the needle tips and keep your knitting safe on the cable whilst you use your needle tips on another project!

We have a range of cable lengths available and when combined with the normal needle tip you can create 60, 80, 100, 150cm circular needles.

We also stock the special length needle tips which are shorter and so when combined with a 40cm cable make a true 40cm circular needle.

You can also use these needles to add a lifeline to your knitting. A lifeline is a piece of smooth contrasting yarn placed through the stitches on a row you know you've knit correctly. Especially useful in lace knitting when it can be tricky to spot yarn overs! Instead of using a needle and running it through your knitting, you put your lifeline yarn in the hole at the base of the needle tip (the one you used to tighten the needle tips and cables together). Then when you knit the lifeline is worked into your knitting automatically.

We also have a range of Knit Pro accessories including stitch markers, needle size ID tags and sock blockers!  As well as some buttons in the same coloured densified laminated birch wood as the needle tips!

buttons from £1.05 for 23mm round, up to £1.65 for the curved triangle

*sounds impressive!
