New Yarn Pony collection in the shop!

Show Pony is back!

Yarn Pony hand dyed yarns has been a huge hit with you all and we've just taken delivery of our 3rd collection.  Just in time for Christmas.

Show Pony is a 50/50 Merino/Silk blend.  It comes in 100g/400m hanks.  It has a gorgeous sheen and drapes beautifully.  Mica has included some new shades in this collection - jewel tones perfect for the Winter months!

We do have a healthy stock of Show Pony but be warned... this yarn sells quick!  If you want the pick of the shades get to the shop as soon as you can.

We've also got some new Mustang shades (100% Merino, again in 100g.400m hanks) AND some Posh Pony Lace in 3 shades.

Posh Pony Lace is a gorgeous Alpaca/Silk/Cashmere blend in 100g hanks.  Perfect for Nymph or Ishbel!

Helen popped in during the  Pittenweem Arts Festival to show off her Pear Drop shawl.

She used Yarn Pony's Show Pony in 4ply and Ysolda Teague's Pear Drop pattern from Saturday Treat.

Pennycress Sock

The 2nd of our sock projects today.  The first one was a cosy baby socks.

Pennycress from Coop Knits Socks in YarnPony Mustang.  This will be in the shop for a wee while.

(Fiona) Currently there is only one sock.  I have a cunning plan to beat 1 sock syndrome.  To have 4 or 5 sock patterns and knit one sock from each before going back to knit the second sock.  Thus removing the problem of immediately having to knit the same thing again.  Cunning or optimistic?

The Pussy Willow stocking in Regia Angora Merino fall into this scheme too.

Next up is Dunkerton Sweet by Jen Arnall-Culliford (again in YarnPony!).

After a very successful trunk show in January and having knitted with Mica's lovely yarn, we're really excited to stock YarnPony in the shop full time!

Edinburgh based Mica started YarnPony late last year - combining her passion for knitting and dyeing to create a stunning collection of yarns. She also offers dyeing workshops in her Edinburgh studio.

We're also very pleased to have copies of Gilver by Jo Kelly... a shawl pattern with an unusual double layered edge - its quite simple to do too! And is perfect in ShowPony...

YarnPony at The Woolly Brew

Hot on the heels of our first designer signing, we're having our first yarn trunk show!

We are very pleased to announce that Mica from YarnPony will be at the shop on  Saturday 26th January.

Edinburgh based Mica started YarnPony late last year - combining her passion for knitting and dyeing to create a stunning collection of yarns...

She dyes a variety of fiber blends... each fiber takes the dye differently, creating a wonderful semi-solid colour palette.  You can read about her dyeing process on her website...  

There is Mustang which is a 100% merino and Bluefaced Pony 100% Bluefaced Leicester.  Or how about Bluefaced Posh Pony - a blend of Bluefaced Leicester, silk and cashmere.  Show Pony - is particularly stunning - a mix of 50/50 merino and silk.  Or maybe you'd like some Pony Deluxe - a 50/50 blend of Baby Camel and Silk!!

Prices for this unique yarn collection  range from £8 for 50g of Bluefaced Pony to £27 for Pony Deluxe (it IS most definitely deluxe).  Fiona has her eye on some Mustang (£16) and Show Pony (£19)  4ply...
