New shop sample - Winston

The Winston Pullover, designed by Jane Richmond, is a super chunky jumper.  Knitted top down in a very thick yarn, this is a quick knit and perfect for beginner garment knitters and for our Rico Melange BIG!  The Melange BIG makes it super soft and light!

We have about 6 shades in stock and the pattern is available to buy in the shop through Ravelry or you can buy it yourself... here.

New Chunky and Super Chunky yarn in the shop

Two new yarns have arrived in the shop!

Robin Phoenix is a vibrant chunky acrylic that knits to a self striping effect.  Accompanying the yarn are several patterns for children's garments and accessories... but it can be used for other chunky patterns too.

The next new yarn is Wendy Super Chunky, a wool/acrylic blend with a different texture to our Rico Super Chunkies and it comes with a lower price tag too!

Rico Creative Bonbon is our newest super chunky - a self striping 53/47% wool acrylic blend in BIG 100g/100m balls.

It has a lovely blurred stripe - with shades blending and twisting into each other.

They blend beautifully with our Essentials Super and our pom poms too!

Super Chunky

We've got the first of our Super Chunkies in the shop!

A new 50/50 wool.acrylic blend from Rico in super bright shades and some neutrals too.

It has an impressive 100m per 100g, its very soft and it is extremely satisfying to knit with!  Super Chunkies normally use 10mm needles, which normally means quick results.

We're putting together a collection of patterns perfect for beginners and those who want a quick knit...  First up is a beginners scarf - using 2 balls of our Super Chunky.

We think this would be a great beginners project - cast on and knit every row - but it's not a neverending scarf - this super thick yarn knits up very quickly!

You only need 2 balls and the pattern even includes instructions on how to add fringes.

Perfect for gift giving too!

We're expecting a fantastic book with lots of patterns for accessories in this Super Chunky yarn.  In fact there is another Super Chunky coming soon...

One clever pattern - two stunning cowls...

On the ball band of Patons BIG Fab is a pattern for a cowl.  It's a simple Knit 1, Purl 1 rib with the added twist of yarn overs.  It creates a very bouncy, stretchy fabric.  Using one ball and knitting with 10mm needles you get this cowl...

1 ball makes 1 super chunky cowl 

Using the same pattern but using 6mm needles and 2 balls Rico Galaxy Chunky (the one with sequins) you get this cowl...

Which is simply stunning!
