Louisa Harding in the shop!

As long time fans of Louisa Harding yarns and patterns we're REALLY excited to be stocking 2 of her yarns this Spring/Summer-

Ondine - 100% cotton, 50g ball with 110m, and £5.50 per ball

Ianthe - 50% merino, 50% cotton blend, 50g Ball with 100m, and £4.95 per ball

We have 3 pattern booklets for these yarns. And as both knit to the same DK tension - 22sts x 30 rows on 3.75 - 4mm needles, the patterns are easily interchangeable.

Some highlights:-

Nancy in Ianthe - available in 2 lengths, 11- 15 balls

Willow in Ianthe, 9 - 13 balls

Evie in Ianthe, 10 - 15 balls

Clam in Ondine, 9 - 11balls

Skipper in Ondine, 8 - 10 balls

Primrose in Ianthe, 7 - 9 balls

Isla in Ondine, 8 - 11 balls

The pattern books are stunning and the colours are gorgeous!

new yarn and some rearranging...

We're continuing to get ready for warmer weather...

We've extended our range of patterns and colours in Manos Lace and now we have a 4 ply pure wool by Rowan in a range of 12 gorgeous colours.

Combined with some new 4 ply patterns we're really excited about this lighter yarn!  And it looks great next to our Lang Superwash (remember its not just for socks!)

And then we couldn't resist moving the Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino beside it too (its not just for babies!)
Have you seen the lovely patterns in Celebrating Family yet? It uses Baby Cashmerino in ladies and children's garments, we have copies of the booklet in the shop.

Watch out for another lightweight yarn... Arriving soon!

new mittens

To satisfy my cold hands and my need for something quick and bright to knit I settled on the turquoise Jamieson's of Shetland Heather Aran weight wool.

I bought this pattern by Oma Leni on Ravelry - very simple and fits my small hands well.

And the resulting mittens are very cosy!  It only took one ball to knit the small/medium size

now for something sparkly...

New yarn!

SMC Select Color Merino - a self striping DK yarn.  We have 4 colours in stock.

And 2 gorgeous pattern books too for DK and Aran weight yarns.... Patterns for man, woman and child!

I need mittens!

Well... I don't actually need mittens... More like I want them... And when you're surrounded by lovely wool it's hard to ignore the urge...

I have a scarf which I knitted 3 years ago using Noro Transitions.

The pattern was a simply woven stripey stitch effect based on the Scrappy Transition scarf on Ravelry.

It has lovely colours... Which just happen to match the gorgeous Jamieson's of Shetland Heather.  An Aran weight 100% wool, i.e. warm

I can't decide which colour to choose... I don't want stripes... I'm drawn towards the turquoise...

I think because of Sarah Jessica's new tights...

Jamieson's of Shetland
Yes the colours are that vibrant in real life!  We're stocking Spindrift (4ply weight) and Heather (Aran weight) and we're waiting for some Cobweb (1ply).  We're  trying to resist the urge to fill the gap with more spindrift...

Lang Jawoll sock wool
Lang Jawoll in solid colours (and a grey tweedy one too).  This sock wool comes in 50g 'balls' and each one has a matching spool of reinforcement thread which you can combine with your yarn to make your sock heels and toes harder wearing!
