We've rearranged the DK shelves to make space for our new linen yarn from Erika Knight so we've now got a little neutral oasis on the main yarn wall!

Studio Linen is in 50g/130m hank

It is made from 100% linen. 85% is recycled rayon-linen fibre, and blended with 15% premium natural linen.

These fibres are twisted and dyed by a specialist Italian spinner to produce a unique yarn with a dry hand feel and subtle sheen.

Cool to the touch, and with a delicate drape Studio Linen is the perfect yarn for summer.

We've got some patterns too for the Studio Linen and a bundle of ideas on Ravelry too.

Rowan Summerlite 4ply is our new 4ply cotton.

It comes in 12 gorgeous matt shades and we have lots of patterns in the shop.  It's a standard 4ply weight so could be used as a substitute in other patterns!

Its featured in Filigree (in the shop!) and its own pattern book and an online childrens' collection too

Fyberspate's Gleem is a lace weight blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Silk (55/45% split) and comes in the same gorgeous semi-solid shades as their Vivacious 4ply.

Except just a little bit lighter...

We've started our collection with 6 shades... and they look stunning.

A bit difficult to photograph in all the bright sunshine we're having in Pittenweem just now!  But such a perfect yarn for this warm weather.

Opal's cotton collection for 2015 features 6 self patterning shades.

This sock yarn is  38% wool 30% cotton 32% polyamide.  So... still hardwearing but a little lighter!

One 100g ball will make you at least one pair of socks.  £8.75 per ball.

Another new addition to our sample collection, beautifully knitted by Karen - a cable neck top in Debbie Bliss Juliet.

Juliet is one of our brand new summer yarns and it's a cotton/acrylic blend.  It knits to a tweedy effect and has a fantastic pattern book...

new shop sample - Azurine in the shop!

Azurine is a cropped cardigan with a pretty picot edge in Noema, a colourful cotton/acrylic blend.

This is from Louisa Harding's new Spring/Summer collection.  You can read more about it here.

It's a straight forward pattern with a simple lace section along the bottom.  You knit the fronts and back in one up to the arm holes so there is minimal sewing up.  And if you don't do cropped you can easily add length - just remember to buy more yarn!

Karen is knitting a sample in our other new Spring/Summer yarn - Debbie Bliss Juliette.  But she has changed her mind re the choice of garment!

New for Spring/Summer 2014 - Louisa Harding's Noema

Our other new yarn for Spring/Summer is Louisa Harding's Noema.

A cotton/acrylic blend that stripes with a slight thick and thin texture and a subtle sheen.

This yarn has a lot going on and all for £4.95.

It has an almost worsted tension listed on the ball band (20 stitches by  28 rows on 4mm) but the stunning pattern book shows how versatile this yarn can be using different needles and changing the tension.

New for Spring/Summer 2014 - Debbie Bliss Juliet

Braid Edged Jacket, 10-13 balls

A stunning new yarn from Debbie Bliss with a lovely tweedy effect once knitted. 

Its a cotton/acrylic blend and knits to a lightweight tension of 25 stitches by 34 rows on 3.25mm needles... that's the same as Baby Cashmerino.

So... a bit thicker than 4ply but lighter than DK. 

It's £4.50 a ball.
